An opportunity exists for an enthusiastic and commercially astute Management Accountant. The role will primarily be based at our Darra office, with some travel to our Wacol office when required.
Reporting to the Commercial Manager you will perform the following tasks:- Produce monthly management accounts for various divisions
- Maintain and improve the integrity of the standard cost system
- Analyse production variances against trend and budget, reporting weekly and monthly across three business units
- Preparation and delivery of key reports and analysis
- Collaborate with the operations teams to drive business performance
- Support business case development for capital investments
- Provide accounting/systems support to various stakeholders across the business
- Contribute to continuous improvement of management information systems and business processes
- Ad hoc projects including financial modelling and commercial support
- Assist with other finance team projects as time allows
- Minimum 5 years of experience in manufacturing industry.
- Preferably CA or CPA qualified.
- Knowledge of standard costing, budgeting and forecasting within a manufacturing environment.
- In depth understanding of accounting principles and theories.
- Ability to read, understand and recommend improvements to key manufacturing metrics.
- Understanding of manufacturing costing concepts such as Bill of materials (BOM), routings, cycle-counts, labour-hours, work centres
- Experience with ERP systems, preferably with QAD
- Experience with management reporting tools, such as Prophix.
In addition, we are looking for the combination of advanced excel skills, process improvement experience and well-developed communication skills.
