About the Role
We are actively looking to hire a Management Accountant to fulfill a crucial role in financial planning and management accounting. The selected candidate will play a key role in ensuring effective financial management and strategic decision-making processes.
Key accountabilities include:
- Collaborate closely with the Team Leader in Management Accounting, providing expert technical support across all operational facets.
- Foster seamless coordination among Finance Unit teams, ensuring the Business operates within a streamlined and effective financial framework.
- Ensure strict adherence to accounting standards.
- Work alongside the Team Leader to disseminate the financial objectives throughout Corporate & Business Units, ensuring alignment and clarity.
- Partner with Managers to meticulously craft, monitor, and control Budgets, evaluating proposals and business cases with precision.
- Conduct in-depth budget reviews, analyse trends, and deliver insightful reports to Management for informed decision-making.
- Contribute to the development and maintenance of robust corporate budget reporting mechanisms utilising advanced management accounting and reporting systems.
- Contribute to the formulation of forward-looking financial planning strategies and policies, ensuring fiscal sustainability and strategic alignment.
- Monitor budget performance across all units, ensuring accountability and driving continuous improvement initiatives within financial management systems.
- Proactively identify and capitalize on opportunities to enhance the organisation's financial management processes.
- Engage with relevant government bodies, departments, and industry peers to ensure the Business fulfills its financial obligations and remains compliant with regulatory requirements.
- Previous Demonstrated ability to undertake the functions and responsibilities identified in this role.
- Experience working with an accounting enterprise system.
- Management accounting, budgeting and financial planning experience.
- Highly developed interpersonal and analytical skills.
- Local or State Government Accounting Experience.
- Experience with SAP Financial System.
- Experience with Business Intelligence reporting programs.
