The Role:
Are you an experienced Accountant with an interest in viticulture and agriculture? This could be the role for you!
As the Management Accountant for one of Australia’s largest viticultural businesses, you will take responsibility of finances and be exposed to a variety of tasks. This fast-paced role will see you thrive in a collaborative environment, utilise your extensive commerce experience, and work with the finance team to provide seamless end-to-end accounting services.
Your Key Responsibilities Include:
- Month end processing including adjusting journals, balance sheet reconciliations and management income and expenditure reporting;
- Oversee the accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll functions with flexibility to assist Finance Officers when required;
- Assisting with the management and professional development of Finance Officers in your team;
- Assisting with the Vintage and product costing process for the vineyards and wineries in the group;
- Assisting in the establishment and ongoing management of financial policies and procedures;
- Contribute to the preparation of annual budgets, ongoing forecasts, and Board reports as required;
- Contribute to the preparation of annual financial statements and tax compliance;
- Liasing with and assisting external auditors as required; and
- Establishing strong connections with key stakeholders both internally and externally, assisting with financial enquiries where possible.
About You:
- Tertiary qualifications in accounting, finance or similar;
- CA/CPA qualification, highly regarded;
- Open-minded, flexible, and a team player;
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and working knowledge of financial software e.g. Xero and Ezywine;
- An understanding of the wine industry, highly regarded;
- A positive attitude and the resilience to work in a changing environment;
- Excellent knowledge of cost accounting and reporting;
- Outstanding risk analysis, budgeting and forecasting knowledge;
- A problem-solver with attention to detail and excellent communication skills; and
- Full Australian working rights.
