- Clerk Grade 11/12 Salary ($139,787 - $161,663) plus employer's contribution to superannuation and annual leave loading
The NSW Reconstruction Authority (the Authority) is a statutory corporation within Planning & Environment. The Authority will improve how NSW plans for disasters and help communities to recover from them faster.
To reduce the severity and impacts of disasters, the Authority will complete critical planning and preparation with communities, businesses, and government. When disaster does strike, we will get recovery started swiftly and coordinate reconstruction efforts across agencies, communities, and other stakeholders.
About the role
As the Manager Aboriginal Outcomes, you will play a pivotal role in delivering initiatives that support the inclusion of the Aboriginal community and businesses in the reconstruction of the Northern Rivers. This role is accountable for building and maintaining strong program structures, evaluation and reporting; working in collaboration and partnership with Aboriginal businesses and community as a trusted advisor to co-design and deliver initiatives that increase economic participation, business growth and development, land activation, employment, improved skills and employability for Aboriginal people in the Northern Rivers region of NSW.

About you
Applicants must be of Aboriginal descent, identify as being Aboriginal and accepted in the community as such, with demonstrated experience working with Aboriginal people and their communities, government organisations and key Aboriginal stakeholders, with the ability to communicate across cultures.
In this exciting and varied role, you will:
- Work with colleagues to provide a team approach to the successful development and implementation of regional projects, strategies and initiatives that support Aboriginal economic opportunity.
- Provide timely and expert advice and prepare reports and briefs for the Director and Senior Management to inform strategic decision making and advise on strategies to effectively engage Aboriginal communities in the development of new policies and programs.
- Work with key internal and external stakeholders and Aboriginal people to design innovative approaches to service delivery that meet the needs of Aboriginal people.
- Participate in and provide advice to departmental or industry working groups and committees to address identified capability gaps and barriers to Aboriginal participation and procurement opportunities
- Maintain effective stakeholder relationships to deliver key Aboriginal outcomes and represent Aboriginal matters of interest on interdepartmental committees relevant to the structure and performance of Aboriginal outcomes.
- Experience in report writing and managing multiple projects.
- Understands the complex challenges to attaining economic participation, grow employment, improve skills and employability and improve services for Aboriginal people in regional NSW
- Can easily navigate complexity, build strong relationships, and bring your team and stakeholders together around a shared purpose.
- Aboriginality - As an Identified role, this role is open only to Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander persons, Australia's First Nations people.
