Job description

McCallum Disability Services provides permanent Specialist Disability Accommodation and Support Independent Living Supports for people with disabilities in Ballarat and St Arnaud.

About McCallum Accommodation:

McCallum currently operates 11 homes and 9 Units in Ballarat. Our homes are purpose built to create a safe and comfortable place for people to live. It is the person’s home and they are supported by staff to make informed choices and decisions around all areas of their life. They are supported to be as independent as possible and to be part of their community.

About the Role:

As a Manager Accommodation Services, you will provide operational leadership and oversight for a portfolio of McCallum’s Accommodation Services. The position is responsible for the provision of high quality, person centered support to our residents, their carers and families. Exceptional customer service and striving for satisfaction is at the heart of everything they do.

The role supports the delivery of Supported Independent Living (SIL) and Specialist Disability Accommodation (SDA) Programs and must ensure services are designed and delivered in accordance with service plans and in alignment with strategic direction of McCallum.

This role is a 12 month fixed term contract. 

 About You:

To be successful in this role you have:

  • Significant and proven experience with a record of achievement in managing the delivery of Health and Human Services
  • Demonstrated knowledge of the needs of people with disability including person centred approach, positive behaviour support and consideration of whole of life
  • Demonstrated effective people leadership including the management of workplace culture, performance, complaint and concerns
  • Proven capacity to deliver strategic objectives and operations with expertise in customer service execution
  • Demonstrated experience in budget management and knowledge of financial principles
  • Demonstrated commitment to teamwork and the construction of a supportive, collaborative work environment with the ability to lead, supervise, coach, and develop employees.
  • Demonstrated ability to critically analyse issues and develop and implement effective strategies and solutions that support McCallum’s goals and values.
  • Excellent communication skills including the ability to prepare high quality written reports, policies, action plans correspondence and other documentation as required.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills, with the ability to build credible relationships as well as negotiate and resolve conflict

Essential requirements

  • Flexibility to be oncall for escalated issues
  • NDIS Workers Screening Check (or willing to obtain prior to commencement)
  • Completion of mandatory NDIS Workers Orientation Module (or willing to complete prior to commencement)
  • Evidence of 2 doses of Covid-19 Vaccine + Booster or a valid exemption 
  • Current First Aid and CPR Certificate – HLTAID003 or HLTAID011
  • Current Australian Drivers Licence
  • Right to work in Australia

  • This is a full time role has been classified as a Level 5 SCHADS role with an annual salary between $93,000 and $98,000 depending on experience
  • You will also be entitled to salary packing options of up to $15,900 for eligible household expenses and $2,650 for meals and entertainment.
