For this role - we are offering a total remuneration package of $140,000 coupled with generous leave entitlements in a supportive team environment.

As our new Manager Advocacy and Policy, you will be responsible for the provision of the highest levels of expertise in advocacy policy and strategy advice to Councillors, Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Senior Leadership Team (SLT) and the boarder organisation. You will take the lead in the formulation, coordination and delivery of City of Darwin policy positions and associate functions such as facilitating and developing various business and political communications and advocacy documents and submissions considering, Council decisions, key stakeholders, Officers and other partners.

You will be based at Civic Centre and predominantly work Monday to Friday. Given the nature of the role, you will be attending after-hours council meetings and workshops.

About YOU

You are familiar with government and public policies, excellent at research and data analysis, great at building and implementing strategies and an expert in policymaking and rolling out plans. You are also aware of key moral and ethical value concepts and equally have good influence and persuasive skills.

You have a relevant Tertiary qualification, and/or extensive experience in the provision of governance, advocacy, policy and strategy in the public or private sector including extensive and comprehensive knowledge of relevant legislation and corporate compliance.
