About Us

Mala'la Health Service Aboriginal Corporation (MHSAC) is a respected and accredited community controlled Aboriginal organisation that provides primary health care services and programs to the seaside community of Maningrida, with a population of approximately 3,000 people. These services include the Maningrida Health Centre , Mala’la Aged Care Centre, and the Family & Community Wellness Services.

MHSAC’s vision is to improve the health and well-being of people in the Maningrida community and surrounding outstations.

Your Opportunity

We are looking for a full-time Aged Care & Community Services Manager based in Maningrida, NT.

This role oversees the operations of Mala’la Flexible Aged Care and Community Services, reports to the Executive Health Manager, and is responsible for ensuring optimal service delivery and compliance with regulatory standards.

More specifically, your responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Managing service operations including resource allocation
  • Coordinating client assessments and medical reviews
  • Ensuring culturally appropriate service delivery
  • Developing and sustaining professional relationships
  • Leading staff and supporting their professional development
  • Reporting on service delivery outcomes
  • Monitoring program budgets
  • Adhering to workplace safety and information technology policies
What We Need From You

To qualify, you will need current Nursing registration as an Enrolled Nurse or Registered Nurse with AHPRA. Extensive experience in Aged Care Management will also be considered essential, while prior experience in a remote Aboriginal community will be held in high regard. 

Additionally, the following skills and background will be highly valued:

  • Sound knowledge in monitoring financial budgets
  • Experience in reporting to major funding bodies
  • Experience in workplace change management
  • Experience in meeting compliance targets
  • Competent in the use of Microsoft Office programs and electronic databases

As our ideal candidate, you will possess exemplary communication skills, as well as a deep understanding of issues impacting community life within the Maningrida Community. It is imperative that you show empathy, warmth, understanding and a strong work ethic.

Benefits

The successful candidate will receive an attractive salary up to $136,000 (dependent on skills & experience) plus 11% super, alongside a wide range of benefits, including:

  • Salary sacrifice options (up to $15,950);
  • Travel allowance of $4,000 per year;
  • Accommodation (2.5 bedroom unit);
  • Retention allowance of $2,500 (after each completed 12 month period of service)
  • Relocation and repatriation expense assistance; and
  • 6 weeks annual leave!

About the Region

Maningrida is a coastal Aboriginal community in the heart of the Arnhem Land region, located about 520km east of Darwin. The town is a major services centre for the region with a school, health clinic, multiple food outlets and two supermarkets, service station, arts centre, crèche, and a tarmac airport, with commercial flights operating daily to Darwin.

Maningrida is an ideal location for keen fishers, with waterways teeming with a wide array of fish such as salmon, barramundi, mangrove jack, golden snapper, Spanish mackerel, trevally and coral trout.
