About the role
In this role, you will establish an inclusive and collaborative internal service delivery model that triages, designs, and oversees transformation projects and improvement activities and enables teams across the City to identify and improve their ways of working autonomously.
Work type: Permanent, full-time
Classification: MSP 2 ($155,000 inclusive of Superannuation)
Key responsibilities include:
  • Engage and collaborate with stakeholders across the organisation to ensure that Business Transformation programs and activities are systemic in nature and are designed to meet specific needs and outcomes.
  • Develop departmental capabilities to meet the requirements of its future strategic goals.
  • Design and implement the business improvement and organisation design internal service delivery models including triage process, user friendly tools and templates, and appropriate governance policies and procedures.
  • Lead the identification and or creation of organisation-wide lateral processes in collaboration with Senior Leadership and their teams.
  • Design, package and oversee Business Transformation programs, projects, and activities to achieve strategic priorities and improve organisation performance and effectiveness.
  • Establish, embed, and oversee an inclusive and collaborative approach to business-as-usual organisational transformation and continuous improvement.
  • Develop and integrate the department's initiatives and annual business plans in line with the Directorate strategy, balancing value for our community and customers within the financial, social, environmental and resource constraints.
  • Manage all aspects of the department's resources and budget planning for effective operations; regularly tracking and reporting on performance against departmental goals.
About you
To be successful in this role you will have demonstrated transformation project leadership experience that deliver quality outputs, within tight deadlines and budget.
Essential Experience:
  • A tertiary qualification in Business Management or Administration and/or significant professional experience in overseeing Business Transformation and/or improvement activities in a comparable organisation.
  • Demonstrated senior leadership experience with people management skills to support, influence and foster a productive team culture.
  • Accomplished negotiation, writing, presentation and public speaking skills to influence stakeholders and achieve support for department outcomes.
  • Demonstrated skills in business planning and management, budget development, financial and resource management, and complex reporting in accordance with strategic goals and KPIs.
  • Proven track of leading teams through change ensuring strong stakeholder engagement throughout the process.
  • Expert knowledge and practice in improving organisational effectiveness through a multi-disciplinary approach leveraging continuous improvement and design mindsets and methods.
  • Demonstrated ability to contribute to an organisation at both the strategic and operational level.
