The Opportunity
Boeing Defence Australia's (BDA) Transformation Office is seeking a Manager, for a permanent position, to lead our Continuous Improvement and Internal Projects team. As a key member of the Transformation Office team reporting to the Senior Manager - Transformation, the ideal candidate will lead a team of Continuous Improvement and project management experts whilst working closely with cross-business key stakeholders to determine process improvement opportunities. The role will require the experience and ability to shift seamlessly from strategic planning to hands-on delivery of process improvements through team coaching and engagement with leadership to learn about existing processes and identify areas for improvement. Strong leadership skills are required with a track record of successful implementation to deliver value and achieve strategic goals.
Responsibilities
- Coach, train, and lead a team of Continuous Improvement and project management specialists to ensure delivery of initiatives and projects in accordance with agreed benefits
- Develop and manage deployment of a business-level Continuous Improvement and Internal Projects roadmap through collaboration with key stakeholders in alignment with BDA strategy
- Manage and provide oversight of team project and Continuous Improvement plans and budgets to ensure successful opportunity realisation
- Collaborate with key stakeholders at all levels, both within the Transformation Office and cross-business, to foster a supportive environment and ensure buy-in and support for effective delivery of business improvements
- Collaborate with Enterprise Change to ensure change management activities are integrated into project and improvement plans, and tailored appropriately to individual/team circumstances
- Support and coach leaders and teams on Leanbehaviours and Continuous Improvement methodologies and, in some cases, directly support implementation of projects and initiatives to build a culture of business improvement
Key Qualifications and Skills
- A Bachelor's degree in business management, business administration, process management, operations or a related field with relevant industry qualification
- Significant experience of leading, coaching, and developing a team with ability to support, lead, and delegate the project team's responsibilities and tasks through all stages of the project life cycle
- Project management and/or Continuous Improvement experience, including experience in leading complex change initiatives in a large organisation
- Highly developed communication skills, with the ability to influence and achieve change through collaboration, negotiation and conflict resolution skills
- Proven leadership skills with the ability to provide broad direction to multi-disciplinary teams working on high profile projects to deliver business outcomes within defined time-frames
