Our Regional Business Improvement team play a crucial role in analysing operational data to look for improvements and opportunities to support organisational change programs and initiatives aimed at delivering world class long distance and tourism rail products.As the Manager of Data Analytics and Reporting, you will directly lead a team of three in providing insightful, accurate, and timely data analysis and Reporting to support strategic decision-making across Queensland Rail. Your leadership will be crucial in driving data-driven initiatives and ensuring the organization leverages data to its fullest potential.In this hands-on and critical role, you will be the central hub for all reporting and data requests relevant to regional operations. These requests can range from network performance to patronage revenue and fares to general operational requests (e.g. on time running).

- Oversee the development and delivery of comprehensive reports, dashboards, and data visualizations for various stakeholders
- Implement and maintain data governance policies and practices to ensure data accuracy, consistency, and security
- Collaborate with key stakeholders across Regional Operations to understand their data needs and deliver actionable insights
- Drive innovation in Data Analytics and Reporting processes, identifying opportunities for automation and efficiency improvements
- Ensure all Data Analytics and Reporting activities comply with relevant standards, regulations, and best practices
- Proven experience in managing and leading a Data Analytics team
- Strong proficiency in Data Analytics tools and technologies, such as Anaplan, BRIO and data visualization tools like Power BI, Tableau, MyReports would be highly advantageous
- Advanced experience in Microsoft suite products specifically Excel (e.g. pivot tables, macros) and PowerPoint
- Exceptional hands-on analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex data sets and provide actionable insights
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex data insights to non-technical stakeholders
- Experience in managing Data Analytics projects from inception to completion
- Highly organised with the ability to manage multiple and competing priorities within a tight deadline driven and agile environment
- Ability to foster strong relationships across a large and complex organisation
