About the opportunity
Reporting to the COO, we are looking for a passionate and dynamic people leader who will lead a team of 2 direct reports (total of 10 in the team) to support, train and ensure the wellbeing of our employees. This is a hands on role, where you will be directly supporting people with a disability and communicating directly with family members, supports and external support providers to ensure that their working experience is the best possible experience. You will:
- Lead our employee support team to deliver the very best outcomes for our employees ensuring their wellbeing, skills development, growth, goal achievement and productivity
- Guide, mentor and develop Employee Support staff and manage escalations of employee support issues
- Foster and Support a culture of accountability and performance through establishing team goals, monitoring performance and providing feedback
- Help to create, deliver and promote our school leaver program, focusing on targeting a new audience of employees, leaving school and entering the workplace for the first time
- Oversee Individual Employment Plans (IEP’s) to ensure goal achievement
- Work alongside our operations team to assist our employees deliver quality products
- Promote and manage work experience programs with locals schools in the area
- Promote employee transition programs working alongside our Customised Employment Team
- Together with the team, ensure compliance with NDIS Practice Standards and Code of Conduct and that employee’s plans and goals under the NDIS are being fulfilled
- Strong experience leading, supporting and mentoring teams
- Positive and solution focused with empathetic and respectful management of conflict
- Ability to work with a diverse workgroup to achieve mutual outcomes
- Promote employee independence, skill development, sense of purpose and pride in their work
- Valuing diversity, and building inclusive environments where people experience belonging
- Effective interpersonal and relationship building skills – with the ability to interact and collaborate with colleagues at all levels of the organisation
- A working knowledge of the NDIS is highly advantageous, however you can learn on the job
- Relevant Formal qualifications (e.g. Community Services/Allied Health/Disability) and experience with people with disabilities and/or other barriers to employment preferred but not required
- Competency in MS Applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, Internet and various other software applications).
