Job Description
Your New Role
We’ve redesigned our Corporate Affairs and Engagement team to better support our projects and our business, as well as provide more opportunities for our people to grow and develop.
This means change in the way we are structured, the way we work and new leadership opportunities across the team.
Reporting to the Executive Director of Corporate Affairs & Engagement, the Employee Engagement Manager plays a critical role in leading and embedding our internal communication strategy. Leading a small team, you will build and enhance Employee Engagement, build capability in our leaders and nurture awareness and understanding of our purpose and our position as a great place for people.
Core Accountabilities
Employee Communications and Engagement:
Lead and implement internal communication strategy for Development Victoria
Ensure inclusivity and engagement across employee groups.
Build the capability of our leaders to communicate with their teams with purpose and passion
Transformation Communication and Engagement:
Drive internal communication initiatives for Transform@DV.
Facilitate cross-organisational engagement for Transformation Program understanding.
Broader Corporate Affairs and Engagement Leadership:
Report both opportunities and issues openly to the Executive Director to advance Corporate Affairs & Engagement team success and minimise risk.
Collaborate with Director Communications and Community and other senior team members to foster a strong team culture.
Lead, motivate, and develop team members, setting objectives and providing regular feedback.
Desired Skills and Experience
About You:
Bachelor's degree or postgraduate qualification in journalism, public relations, communications, or related field.
Extensive experience in internal communications, senior communications and engagement roles, particularly in managing change programs, preferably within a government setting.
Track record of developing high-performing teams.
Experience in navigating complex and dynamic operational environments.
Demonstrated leadership in team recruitment, development, and coaching.
Proficiency in stakeholder and client engagement at an advanced level.
Advanced skills in innovation and continuous improvement.
Ability to think strategically and achieve outcomes effectively.
Advanced communication skills to convey impact.
Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
Proficient in facilitating meetings and workshops.
Capable of persuading and influencing others to take action aligned with the organisation's vision.
