Lead and develop a new team, and new initiatives to enhance First Year transition success at Charles Darwin University (CDU)
About the Position
As the Manager, First Year Student Success, you will be responsible for the socialization, implementation, evaluation, and continuous improvement of the CDU First Year Student Success Framework. You will lead a strategic program of student support that embeds proactive, targeted, and coordinated early intervention strategies designed to enhance the transition experience of students.
You will use your high-level stakeholder engagement skills to foster the uptake of Student Success initiatives within university faculties and ensure that all initiatives are informed by best practice in transition education and student performance data. You will develop and lead a new team of Student Success advisors and drive collaboration with existing support services to increase the effectiveness of support available to students.
About You
To be successful, you will require:
- Postgraduate qualifications or significant progress towards postgraduate qualifications in Education, Teaching or TESOL (or equivalent).
- Demonstrated experience leading the development and implementation of the Student Success projects that improve student outcomes.
- Demonstrated commitment and experience in leading customer-centric continuous improvement initiatives to enhance business systems, processes, and procedures to improve the customer experience.
- High level knowledge of best practice in transition education and Student Success in higher education, VET and/or pathway programs and demonstrated experience implementing this in an education setting.
- Demonstrate experience leading teams and delivering a consistent and integrated customer experience across a complex / matrix management environment.
- Proven capacity to develop, maintain and leverage relationships with a broad range of stakeholders to implement collaborative programs of work.
- High level written and oral communication skills, including the ability to liaise with senior management and develop strategic and operational communications for a wide audience.
- Demonstrated capacity leading programs of change in a way which encourages buy in and the sustainability of the changes.
- Demonstrated high level complex and sensitive problem solving, negotiating and conflict resolution skills in a customer service context.
- Demonstrated capacity to build the capacity of individuals and teams at a variety of experience levels.
- Demonstrated experience in program evaluation and continuous improvement evaluation.

Remuneration
Appointment to this role will be at Professional level 8 or 9 salary (dependent on skills and experience). The base salary will be in the range of $102,831 to $126,324 per annum. The total remuneration package will be in the range of $120,312 to $147,799 per annum, including 17% superannuation.
