About the Team
The Office of the Secretary supports our leaders to develop and deliver the vision and strategy for Transport for NSW. We provide a range of services including strategic advice, executive communication, government relations, including Machinery of Government activities and parliamentary services, as well as general business, executive and Cabinet support.
The Opportunity
Over the past eighteen months, Transport for NSW made submissions to and appeared at more than 30 parliamentary inquiries.
This role will be supported by a Grade 8, and the successful candidate will lead each stage of the Parliamentary Inquiry process. The role will involve liaising across the Transport Cluster Executive as well as the related portfolio Ministers.
There will be significant exposure to the parliamentary space and rely on your skills in project and stakeholder management.
Key Accountabilities of this role include:
- Manage the delivery of Ministerial products and provide support to the Secretary and Ministers in preparation for attendance at Budget Estimates, Parliamentary Inquiries as well as stakeholder forums.
- Lead the delivery of projects within the Office of the Secretary, in collaboration with stakeholders from across Transport for NSW and government, including representation on cross government projects and working groups.
- Review proposals and submissions to determine potential transport impacts, and coordinate or formulate, and provide high-level quality assurance on, Ministerial products as well as advice to the Chief of Staff, Secretary, Ministers, or State and federal Government agencies.
About You
- The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate a strong understanding of NSW Government systems including Machinery of Government processes, policies and practices, preferably including the workings of a Ministerial Office, Parliament and Cabinet.
- You will be able to deliver high quality work under pressure and be able to build relationships across all areas of Transport for NSW, including at a Divisional and Executive level.
- You are a strong communicator who thrives in an agile and fast-paced environment.
- A candidate with experience or qualifications in Government Relations or a related discipline is preferred.
Salary and Benefits
The salary for this position is Grade 9 ($142,178 – $159,238) per annum plus superannuation.
