The Mining, Exploration and Geoscience (MEG) Information Management team are on the lookout for their next Manager Strategy & Projects.
Reporting to the Director Information Management, you will work within the MEG business, providing leadership and oversight to project teams (including internal and external project staff) to deliver milestones and outcomes for key MEG ICT strategic projects and initiatives.
Working in collaboration with vendors, the business, and stakeholders some of your main responsibilities will include:
Overall responsibility to deliver multiple concurrent approved ICT projects as per the Information Management (IM) annual business plan. Ensuring projects have an appropriate level of governance and delivered to time and budget. Reporting requirements are completed as outlined in the Project Plans.
Working with other IM managers to prepare business cases for planned projects based on benefit realisation.
Overall responsibility to deliver action items from the current IM Strategy ensuring continuous improvement in project delivery and customer satisfaction.
To be successful you’ll be a self-starter and strategic thinker who takes ownership and accountability for the outcomes of your work. You’ll have a proven record of project management within an ICT discipline (software preferred) as well as an advanced understanding of procurement and contract management.
You’ll also need advanced communication skills (both written and verbal), advanced stakeholder management (internal and external) and an advanced understanding of project governance and risk management.
An advanced understanding of all aspects of change management is also required.
Essential requirements
Demonstrated, relevant professional experience using project management methodologies in an agile environment.
Demonstrated knowledge and experience using project management tools.
