About Us
Minderoo Foundation takes on tough, persistent issues with the potential to drive massive change. We incubate ideas, advocate for systems change and accelerate impact. We push the limits of what is believed possible.
Minderoo Foundation is proudly Australian, independent, forward thinking and seeks effective, scalable solutions. Through bold, collaborative and selfless action, we seek to dismantle the systems that entrench inequality and advocate for a fairer future.
Minderoo Foundation's Communities Focus Area aim's to uplift child and community wellbeing through place-based approaches, arts and culture, and early years solutions.
Opportunity and disadvantage are not evenly distributed. They are predetermined from conception and are intergenerational, concentrated in particular places and exacerbated by many social factors. Often, those that are most disadvantaged are First Nations people. By reimagining our approach to the early years, empowering community-led decision-making, fostering social connection and belonging, and fostering economic empowerment and safety, these cycles of disadvantage can be broken and a new trajectory charted.
Alongside our peers, partners, and communities, we will learn from outcomes at the community level and advocate to scale promising practices with a focus on:
- Early childhood development
- Community agency and belonging
- Safety and economic security.
