About the Role

As Portfolio Manager Delivery, you will be responsible for the safe and predictable delivery of medium sized (US$30M to US$250M) capital projects across our Copper South Australia Asset as part of our Minerals Australia Projects team.

Achieving project success and realising approved business objectives is the central accountability of this role. BHP operates with a functional matrix organisational structure therefore the ability to deliver via functional influence and stakeholder sponsorship whilst steering performance will position you for success with a cross Functional team.

This is an Adelaide-based role with frequent travel to site to ensure safe delivery of project objectives.

In this role you will:

  • Demonstrate an overriding commitment to health, safety, environmental responsibility and sustainable development;
  • Develop project strategies to deliver health, safety and business objectives;
  • Drive implementation of project delivery, including methodologies, systems and execution plans, including risk and quality management plans;
  • Lead value driven decision making to ensure the project KPIs are realised;
  • Proactively manage external relationships with our partners;
  • Implement positive communication and cultural processes to support project and operational outcomes;
  • Maintain strong and transparent relationships with internal and external stakeholders; and
  • Provide clear and consistent project updates as per organisational routines.
About You
  • Significant Project Management experience, preferably via development or delivery of complex, multi-disciplinary investments and management of large teams;
  • Advanced safety leadership expertise with proven commitment to safety and sustainability;
  • Degree qualified in STEM; with supplementary MBA or similar commercial qualifications preferred but not essential;
  • Lead by example; confidence, resilience and determination to hold yourself and others accountable; and
  • Mature negotiation, mentoring and coaching skills that support a high performing team built on a learning mind-set.
