The Department of Infrastructure, Planning and Logistics (DIPL) plays a lead role in planning strategic and long-term integrated land and infrastructure that supports community needs, sustainable economic development and future growth across the NT. It provides a range of regulatory and customer services in relation to land and the built environment, including administrative support for a number of statutory boards.Your role sits within the Land Servicing and Engineering Unit which is responsible for program management, design and construction of subdivisions, land servicing infrastructure, including trunk infrastructure across the Northern Territory.

Your new role
The primary purpose of the role is to lead a team of Project Managers and be the primary source of project planning, project execution, and resource for delivery of land servicing, Capital projects, and headworks programs for the Housing Program. The position is the first point-of-contact for high level project updates and will be a key team member to deliver the land development program associated with the recently announced $4 billion National Partnership for Remote Housing NT.
Provide leadership and strategic management of the infrastructure program
Ensuring project delivery is to time, budget and quality through adequate resourcing
Formulate cost effective, efficient strategies, and continuous improvements to ensure a high standard of project management
Review and approve project plans, memorandums, ministerial briefings, tender documents, and other project documents
Supervise procurement activities team to ensure compliance with DIPL procurement policies
Provide program advice, reporting, and information including emerging trends and issues in current or future programs
Build and manage sound relationships across the agency and other stakeholders to maximise the outcome of the program
Review and finalise monthly project reporting of the work unit
What you'll need to succeed
- Experience in managing the delivery of land development from planning to detailed design, including lot creation, development approval submissions, land tenure, headworks, community consultations, and coordination with authorities
- Experience in the preparation of reporting, Ministerial or equivalent high-level correspondence
- Knowledge of best practice in planning processes, business management, information management, project management, contract management, and NT Governmentprocurement practices
- Experience in people management with strong relationship building skills, including the ability to interact effectively with people of different cultures
- Advanced communication, negotiation and conflict resolution skills
- Program management, leadership and resource management skills
- Ability to develop and maintain effective collaborative partnerships with key internal and external stakeholders at all levels
This role is a Designation SAO1 – salary is between $126,030 - $140,795 + super, pa.
