In this role, you'll:
Act as the first point of contact for harbour users and local communities on precinct management issues. The central point of coordination and integration between harbour customers and relevant teams in NSW Maritime you will visit the harbours within your geographical spread on a monthly basis and get involved in infrastructure delivery, asset maintenance, customer service, and compliance.
Additional accountabilities will be but are not limited to:
• Contribute to interface with DPIE regarding Transport’s role as Crown Land Manager and assist project teams delivering infrastructure projects on Crown Land.
• Implement systems and processes for managing industry and community uses of regional harbour infrastructure assets relating to property management, compliance, asset management and infrastructure development.
• Provide advice and support on operational and customer issues within Regional Harbours to ensure that all risks are addressed and communicated across Transport
• Build strong working relationships with other government agencies, private industry, and across the Transport cluster.

About you
You are passionate about building and maintaining relationships and have the ability to understand complex environments. This role requires someone to coordinate the development of solutions to customer issues by bringing the necessary parties together in order to deliver to proposed outcomes. You demonstrate the confidence to make high-level, wide-reaching decisions and empower others to meet deadlines. You take a long-term approach and demonstrate attention to detail as you plan and problem solve for contentious issues.
As an experienced leader, you will understand the value of good customer service and situational awareness. Possessing a combination of strong stakeholder management, collaboration, negotiation and communication skills as you will be required to regularly consult, coordinate and persuade a variety of different stakeholders and the community.
You will also have:
• Demonstrated knowledge and experience in customer service management and engagement relating to the use and administration of government infrastructure and/or land assets.
• Demonstrated understanding of the relevant legislation governing Crown Land and Maritime administration in NSW.
• Appropriate tertiary qualifications or demonstrated, relevant, equivalent professional experience
• Experience in waterway management will be highly regarded
• Have a current and valid Australian motor vehicle driver licence and be willing to travel to the North- NSW Area
The role is a Fixed Term Contract until December 2024. The salary for this position is Transport Maritime Officer MA15 ($147,482) per annum plus superannuation. The role supports a variety of work in Regional NSW. We have offices at a number of locations across NSW and encourage people regionally based in New South Wales to apply as we have flexible working arrangements available.
