Manager Roads and Fixed Assets

We have an exciting opportunity for a Manager Roads and Fixed Assets to join our team in Bushfire and Forest Services at DEECA. In this key role, you will lead a multidisciplinary team responsible for the management of critical fixed bushfire assets and the delivery of capital infrastructure projects. Your leadership will be instrumental in ensuring the safety and efficiency of our road network and Fixed Assets on public land.
As the Manager Roads and Fixed Assets, you will provide strategic direction, mentor your team, and oversee the delivery of high-quality asset and road management services. Collaborating with internal and external stakeholders, you will navigate complex considerations related to safety, regulations, culture, and environmental impact. Your expertise in government procurement and contract management will be highly valued as you manage budgets, business planning, and reporting for the unit. Additionally, your ability to provide expert advice and innovative solutions will drive excellence in road and asset management.

Specialist/Technical Expertise/Qualifications
* Tertiary qualifications in science, engineering or natural resource management with several years' experience.
* Knowledge of relevant legislation, policies and management procedures relating to asset management and/or road management on public land is an advantage.
* Experience in government procurement and contract management is highly desirable.
* Experience in working with community stakeholders including traditional owner groups is desirable.
This is an ongoing position. The work location for this position is 8 Nicholson Street Melbourne, with hybrid work arrangements available.
