The Manager Communication leads a small multidisciplinary team to prepare and quality assure of a range of communication materials and activities to support the implementation of the Equity and Excellence strategy.
This position reports to the Executive Director, Strategic Implementation, Governance and Educational Performance.

About the Role
The Manager Communication leads a small multidisciplinary team to prepare and quality assure of a range of communication materials and activities to support the implementation of the Equity and Excellence strategy. This position reports to the Executive Director, Strategic Implementation, Governance and Educational Performance.
The Manager Communication:
- oversees the development of departmental communication plans and provides high level advice and support to senior officers to ensure that materials achieve their objectives;
- works collaboratively with internal stakeholders to develop high-quality communication materials to support the implementation of the Equity and Excellence education strategy;
- leads the program of work comprising the development of a range of Equity and Excellence communications, including speeches, briefing notes, correspondence, photo and video production, good news stories, and promotional materials;
- prepares and reviews briefing material, correspondence and reports for the Minister and senior departmental officers to provide accurate information and consistent messaging about the Equity and Excellence strategy;
- leads the promotion of Equity and Excellence at conferences and event booths.
The ideal applicant will have the following key attributes:
- strong project management skills;
- strong written communication skills and attention to detail;
- event and budget management experience is preferable;
- experience leading and developing strategic communications;
- ability to effectively lead a small team, responding positively to feedback to sustain success and to engage in ongoing improvement;
- ability to manage competing priorities to meet deadlines and deliver quality work in a timely manner;
- knowledge of, or ability to rapidly acquire knowledge of, the department's Equity and Excellence education strategy.
