Job description
The VSBA operates as a Group within the Department of Education. Established in August 2016, the VSBA has been tasked by the Victorian Government to:
build on existing infrastructure planning and delivery strengths
have a stronger, dedicated focus on project planning, delivery and community engagement
increase reporting to Government with stronger asset policy integration
provide a major uplift in Statewide and local communications.
The VSBA brings together the Department's existing expertise in project management, the latest ideas in school and early childhood learning centre design, and a dedicated community engagement team to deliver the right schools for local communities.
The purpose of this role is to lead the development, refinement and continuous improvement of asset management and Investment strategy for the Victorian school portfolio.
Key role responsibilities include:
Lead the development, refinement and continuous improvement of the Departments Asset Strategy, infrastructure investment Strategy and associated plans.
Management and development of staff, including the delegation of appropriate work programs.
The development and implementation of policies, standards and programs that advance contemporary, sustainable and safe schools.
Working across the Authority and the Department more broadly to ensure the quality of implementation and the continuous improvement and refinement of policies and procedures.
Developing, promoting and maintaining strong relationships with key stakeholders both internally and externally as required.
The ideal candidate will have a strong asset management background with experience of managing a small, professional team. Government experience is desirable.
