- In this role, you will be a key member of the Product Quality leadership team, working on a global scale to manage and support our growing supplier base
- Lead a team of engineers to work with our suppliers and ensure components used to manufacture ResMed products are of the highest consistency and quality.
- Provide technical leadership in a core discipline (molding and mechanical assembly or electronics/PCBA manufacturing) to support and guide team members, identify best practices, and uphold the highest quality standards.
- Partner with Supplier development and project XFT’s to ensure that ResMed’s requirements are effectively conveyed to suppliers and suppliers’ constraints are effectively implemented in ResMed’s designs
- Be a critical partner to the Manufacturing/Production teams in ensuring the supply of Quality components and the timely resolution of any quality/supply issues
- Ensure appropriate resource allocation and prioritization to support the business’ deliverables to agreed timelines and budgets.
- Develop, motivate, and mentor Supplier Engineers and Technicians including identification of development and training opportunities to broaden skills and experience particularly in the areas of leadership, problem solving and process excellence tools.
- Maintain thorough knowledge of ResMed’s Quality system to work within established policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with GMP, regulatory requirements and other business systems.
- Develop and implement plans for the continual improvement of ResMed’s supplier management processes and practices.
- Manage supplier initiated process change control, ensuring changes are completed in a timely manner and regular communication is maintained with suppliers on the status of changes.
- Manage supplier performance and improvement activities including deployment of KPIs, identifying improvement opportunities and regular review of performance with suppliers
- Take lead in driving investigations to resolve Supplier Quality issues in a timely and systematic fashion and provide prompt update of issues to the relevant stakeholders across the organization.
- Ensure all supplier actions (SPVs and CAPAs) are completed within their required timeframes.
- Ensure the implementation of management systems within their area of responsibility (including health & safety, quality & environmental). And monitor the performance of direct reports against the management system requirements.
- This role is primarily based on site at our manufacturing facilities in Tuas (Singapore) or Bella Vista (Sydney). Given the global coverage for the role, connecting with team members and/or suppliers in different time zones will be required and there may also be a need for some global travel from time to time to visit supplier sites etc.
- Perform other adhoc duties as required.
Required
- Tertiary qualifications in Engineering or a related discipline
- 8+ years’ overall experience in a manufacturing/supplier support environment, with a focus on electronics, moulding and/or mechanical assembly
- 3+ years’ experience in managing teams of Engineers
- Strong stakeholder management, communication skills, business acumen & advanced negotiation skills.
- Ability to communicate technical expertise in summary project/finance/business language at Senior Customer/Stakeholder/Supplier level.
- Proficiency in application of structured problem-solving methods and tools
- Proven experience in
- Workforce planning, talent development and performance management
- Change/project management with respect to organisational and business process changes.
- Quality process knowledge, including statistics, and representing business with external and internal based audits to various standards e.g., ISO13485, MDSAP etc.
- Development and application of best practice processes and systems
- Working within XFT environment, representing supplier management during new product development
- Training & experience in Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing and APQP tools & methodologies
- Experience in a high-volume Manufacturing environment in a highly regulated industry – preferably medical devices
- Proven ability in managing a team in global locations.
