Supplier Quality Engineer – Short term contract

The Opportunity

We are working with our client, a growing consultancy firm dedicated to delivering excellence in the realm of manufacturing, in order to identify a Supplier Quality Engineer who is able to work across their OEM Client base in order to maintain the highest standards of quality throughout their supply chain.

Role Overview:

As a Supplier Quality Engineer, you will play a crucial role in maintaining and enhancing the quality standards of the Manufacturers products. Working on-site at the OEM facility, you will collaborate closely with suppliers to ensure adherence to quality requirements, drive continuous improvement initiatives, and uphold rigorous quality control processes.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct supplier audits and assessments to evaluate compliance with quality standards and specifications.
• Drive Capacity Audits during onboarding of suppliers to ensure New and Existing suppliers are able to uphold quality and supply demands.
• Develop and implement Supplier Quality improvement plans to enhance product quality and reliability.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve quality issues and implement corrective/preventive actions.
• Monitor supplier performance metrics and provide regular reports to management.
• Drive supplier development initiatives to enhance capabilities and mitigate risks.
• Support new product introductions by facilitating supplier qualifications and ensuring smooth integration into manufacturing processes.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field.
• Proven experience in Supplier Quality Engineering within a manufacturing environment, preferably in fabricated equipment.
• Strong knowledge of quality management systems, including ISO standards.
• Proficiency in conducting supplier audits and performing root cause analysis.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with internal and external stakeholders.
• Detail-oriented mindset with a focus on driving continuous improvement initiatives.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities simultaneously
