Queensland Fire and Emergency Services (QFES) is the primary provider of fire, rescue and Emergency management programs and services throughout Queensland. Purpose of the role

Highly desirable requirements
- Possession of a current Certificate IV in Training and Assessment and/or accredited tertiary qualification in adult education would be highly regarded.
- Work in an adaptable and high-pressure environment to support the development of training materials that align with RTO compliance and deliver positive training outcomes.
- It is expected that the incumbent will participate in an out-of-hours roster during emergency event operations. This may require work outside of normal working hours (e.g. night shift), including weekends, working extended hours and may include deployment to other parts of the state.
Your part in the ongoing success of our department, in supporting key frontline services will see you responsible for a variety of work, including, but not limited to:
- Manage the development, implementation and review of curriculum to support volunteers and staff capabilities and ensure training resources meet the needs of a contemporary volunteer service.
- Develop, implement, monitor and maintain effective systems and processes in support of Training Delivery and assessment to achieve planned training priorities and targets.
- Lead the development and implementation of best practice frameworks and guidelines, with ongoing research, analysis and evaluation of national and international training products, issues and initiatives in relation to education and training standards.
- Provide high-level advice on matters that may impact the delivery of training and operational readiness and/or provide recommendation to support effective decision-making in the development of education and training through best practice.
- Liaise with internal and external stakeholders in the design, development, and implementation of training programs to provide a collaborative response to an evolving volunteer environment reliant upon place-based solutions.
- Prepare and review reports, submissions, briefs and correspondence on a broad range of education and training issues in accordance with departmental requirements and governance.
- Manage current and emerging issues that impact on volunteer activities to maintain currency within training and development policies and strategies, and provide recommendation for continuous improvement.
- Undertake and support operational duties during emergencies and disasters which may involve short-notice activation and rostering outside of business hours.
