Manager Water Sector Energy Transition

This role has a particular focus on pumped hydropower and renewable hydrogen technologies which have a strong dependence on the water sector and management of water resources. This contributes to the Victorian water corporations' commitment to net-zero by 2035 as outlined in the Statement of Obligations (Emissions Reduction).

The successful candidate will be highly motivated and comfortable working within an environment of change as new technologies emerge. You will be responsible for coordinating input from across the water sector to create new policy in this exciting space and must be future focussed with a passion for working with stakeholders to achieve mutually beneficial outcomes. Knowledge of the interfaces between energy and water will be highly regarded, and a strong understanding of one of these sectors at a minimum is essential.

Specialist/Technical Expertise/Qualifications

• Understanding of either the water OR energy sectors is essential and experience in the interface between the energy and water sectors would be very highly regarded.
• A tertiary qualification in natural resource management, engineering or similar field would be desirable.
• A good understanding of the operating environment within the public sector or utilities sector would be beneficial.

This is a fixed term position available until 30 June 2024.
