As a member of the Production team, you will be responsible for helping to manage the plant performance, concentrate blending and logistics strategy, and improvement projects focused on metal recovery, operating costs, and environmental performance. This position is a permanent residential role, on a standard 5/2/4/3 roster configuration.The successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Leading a group of Metallurgists in the delivery of technical support to the Copper Smelter .
- Developing plans to achieve key business objectives.
- Developing and overseeing logistics, plant, or project trials to optimise the performance of the Smelter.
- Documenting and communicating technical improvements in the Smelter.
- A degree in an Extractive Metallurgy or Chemical Engineering related discipline.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in metallurgical industries (pyrometallurgy and ideally copper smelting).
- Understanding of smelting systems and processes and their inter-relationships.
- Experience in leading groups of 3-5 people.
- Ability to communicate effectively to a wide variety of stakeholders.
- Well developed report writing skills coupled with practical experience in analysing operational performance
- Excellent computer skills particularly in MS Excel or similar data analysis software
- PI AF experience and dealing with large datasets and programming would be favourable
