As a member of the Infrastructure and Sustainability Directorate, the Manager Works is key to the overall successful management of a diverse workforce across the Shire, including planning and delivering capital works, programmed and reactive maintenance programs for parks and gardens, trees, roads and civil infrastructure, buildings, heavy and light fleet. This position is also responsible for the management and operations of the Hamilton Regional Livestock Exchange including associated compliance requirements.
Leading a team of four direct reports, your ability to engage broadly to bring out the best in your staff will be critical to your success.
The key objectives of the role are to
- Lead a pro-active approach to routine maintenance and operational functions to enable delivery ensuring key stakeholders are informed.
- Proactively cultivate and maintain collaborative team relationships across all Council functions.
- Bring a change mindset to implement industry best practise and innovation.
- Identify and lead change initiatives that ensure staff contribute to the design and implementation of new ways of working and engaging.
- Contribute to Council's Asset Management Plan and the associated programs including inspections, data management and delivery of works on specific assets.
- Collaboratively contribute to the development and delivery of the Long-Term Capital Works Program and Asset Management Plans.
