About the Role

Environmental Operations branch is responsible for the preservation, management and enhancement of Council’s diverse range of environmental and recreational assets and in partnership with our community, the rich biodiversity of the region’s landscapes. The branch plays an active role within Council, liaising with other units, as well as with the community to maintain and deliver high quality environmental outcomes.

The Manager’s Assistant provides professional and confidential secretarial and administrative support to the Branch Manager, provides a point of contact for all internal and external customers of the branch, and coordinates and carries out key administrative tasks / projects for the relevant teams within the branch.

  • Provide comprehensive and confidential support and assistant functions to the Manager. 
  • Assist in the day to day administration of the Branch through liaison with Managers and Team Leaders, ensuring timeframes are met and follow up actions are executed.
  • Carry out research and analysis in preparation of reports and the drafting of correspondence for the Branch Manager within relevant timeframes. 
  • Develop, review and maintain effective office and information systems and processes relevant to information management and other corporate requirements.

About you

As a Manager’s Assistant you will posses previous experience providing administrative support requiring a high degree of professionalism, confidentiality, attention to detail and business insight coupled with strong communication and interpersonal skills.

You will have demonstrated ability to prepare reports and draft professional correspondence, strong time management, work prioritisation and organisation skills.

You will have strong skills in the use of online and corporate IT systems, mobile devices, Microsoft Office Suite, electronic data and website content management, and financial and human resource systems.

As a requirement of this role, you will have a Certificate IV in Business Administration/Local Government or other relevant disciplines or extensive equivalent experience.
