Job Overview

An outstanding opportunity exists to join a global market leader and dominant force in the Australian gaming market.  IGT is the world leader in the design, development and manufacture of gaming products and systems.  IGT Australia provides a range of gaming products, systems and services to the Club, Hotel and Casino industries.


IGT is searching for a Manufacturing Engineer to be based in our warehouse in Ermington. This position is responsible for the design, implementation, control, support and troubleshooting of manufacturing, test, and assembly processes in IGT’s production facility in Ermington, Sydney and supporting manufacturing-related customer/field related issues in APAC.

What is the role?

  • Assist with the coordination of new product introduction initiatives throughout Operations with focus on defining and developing manufacturing processes, documentation, and any associated fixtures.
  • Participate in cost reduction and process efficiency initiatives to drive product, process, material cost, and quality and delivery improvements to meet year over year improvement target. There is focus on developing, optimizing, and implementing manufacturing methods and processes through Manufacturing Engineering tools (e.g., line balancing, general assembly flows, process flows)
  • Support on time order completion targets by addressing daily production issues related to process, bill of material, configuration, and sales order data. Assist in identifying short and long-term solutions based upon root cause.
  • Assist in generating Engineering Change Orders (ECOs) to release new production tools or materials.
  • Assist in the review of ECOs to identify impact to production processes and ensure efficient integration into production.
  • Support manufacturing test personnel related to test specifications, methods, and procedures. 

This position requires an incumbent who can work independently and be a self-starter.  

What are we looking for in candidates?

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering
  • 7-10 years of experience in Manufacturing Engineering, process development for new product introduction, and engineering change order implementation.
  • Microsoft Office Suite, SolidWorks, SAP.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills. Effective listening skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to resolve conflicts quickly with win-win solutions.
  • Ability to work collaboratively and independently on projects.
  • Exposure to manufacturing test engineering environment and discipline, a plus.  

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working in an advanced ERP system (preferably SAP).
  • Experience teaching/training skills, leading project teams, effectively communicating problem statements and possible root causes.
