About The Role

The Manufacturing Engineer will be responsible to drive factory improvements in the technical manufacturing departments through a strong showing of initiative and active participation in the Manufacturing Engineering Team activities as well as clear planning and building of cross functional relationships.

Location: 

You will be based in Dudley Park, Adelaide office within the manufacturing facility with colleagues working for Business Area & Factory Manufacturing Engineering

What You’ll Do

  • Identify initial concepts including design for new processes or tooling relating to equipment including costing and recommend production rates
  • Undertaking of engineering projects
  • Preparation of equipment specifications and capital expenditure requests for funding where part of project
  • Assist other Manufacturing Engineers in areas of difficulties relating to their projects and to resolve issues relating to personnel and projects
  • Liaise with outside contractors on implementation of projects
  • Attend team meetings with other Manufacturing Engineers on an appropriately regular basis to provide feedback on individual performance
  • Review methods of manufacture to ensure that the most economical approach is utilized
  • Participate in the implementation of Plant Automation and Control
  • Attend review meetings held between production departments and respective engineers
  • Assist maintenance in breakdowns where Manufacturing Engineering assistance is required for processes or tooling
  • Liaise with production on equipment or tooling issues and identify areas for improvement
  • Provide general support to operators and supervisors on technical issues as well as ongoing training where applicable
  • Conduct required training for production personnel due to changes in equipment or tooling
  • Display role model behaviors i.e. integrity, honesty, and keeping to commitments made.
  • Contribute to a positive morale of teams and individuals and provide support wherever necessary
  • Promote continuous improvement including housekeeping and the maintenance of the EMS systems through the use of EMS principles

Qualification:

  • Engineering degree in Mechanical or Manufacturing
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in manufacturing, tooling and press
  • Experience in Continuous Improvement and Automation
  • Project Management experience
  • Good use of English language
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills
  • Computer literacy in (among others) MS Word, Outlook, Excel and Power Point
