The Manufacturing Engineering role will take responsibility for engineering matters relating to planning, managing, and maintaining production methods and processes from conceptual design through to automation. Knowledge of control systems, specifications, programming, simulation, and testing will help for projects.
Key skills required:
The holder of this position is expected to have expertise in a range of different manufacturing technologies which may include
- Servo, stepper & linear motion control systems,
- Vision inspection systems,
- PLC controls design & programming (Siemens, Unitronics)
- Process control system design and implementation, including robot integration.
- SCADA/MMI/HMI software
- Conveyors and parts feed systems including vibratory and motor driven hoppers, bowls, and inline feeders etc.
- Rotary and linear past indexing and transport systems
- Strong commitment to WH&S in the workplace
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Organising, planning, commissioning, and maintaining production lines.
- Manufacture of jigs and fixtures on site when possible.
- Improving existing operations, incorporating new methods and processes.
- Handling equipment purchase and installation including upgrades to existing equipment.
- Investigating operational problems affecting production
- Preparing manufacturing documentation required for product manufacture
- Providing technical expertise and support.
- Co-coordinating projects
- Managing project budgets
- Daily troubleshooting including corrective action
- training of staff in process and equipment uses
- Detailed documentation upon project completion
- Participate and manage ISO audit requirements
