Baker & Provan is involved in a number of sectors including Defence, rail, mining and infrastructure and is looking for a project engineer/project manager with machining and fabrication experience to manage a number of workshop-based projects and in particular in the Defence sector.

The scope will include the planning, and management of a number of Manufacturing Projects based in our workshop in St Marys, western Sydney.
Duties will include:
- Plan and manage the execution of jobs including preparation of safety and quality documentation and job schedule.
- Exercise due diligence in ensuring that Baker & Provan Pty Ltd meets its primary duty of care under the WHS Act 2011.
- Review of sub-contractor JSEAs / SWMSs.
- Issue RFQs and Purchase Orders as required to execute jobs
- Liaise with customers, sub-contractors and suppliers.
- Control production priorities within the span of control.
- Communicate and assist the Supervisors with meeting the project requirements.
- Manage the relevant sub-contractors to ensure the sub-contractor understands and meets the requirements given to them.
- Assisting, as required, with the preparation of tenders and quotations, including the determination of relevant standards and company capabilities.
- Initiate, develop and implement programs to improve safety, productivity, and efficiency within manufacturing.
