MARINA OPERATIONS – HARBOUR MASTER
This is a great opportunity if you are looking for a full-time role which encompasses both a recreational lifestyle with a career focused on the marina industry.
Fremantle Sailing Club is one of the largest marina facilities in Australia, and we are looking for someone who has excellent knowledge of boating and experience in other marinas and yacht clubs. Service delivery and great member focus is a must as well as good organisation skills to service and attend to the requirements of a very busy marina.
Key responsibilities include the following:
- Manage the marina to maximize pen, bay and storage occupancy and casual stays in a fair and equitable manner within the framework of the FSC Constitution and Rules.
- Coordinate and conduct pen, harbour, buildings, vessel, storage, equipment, and grounds maintenance.
- Occupational Health and Safety and Emergency Management of the harbour
- Security Management and CCTV
- Liaise with Government Officials and Departments
- Assist committees’ coordinate sailing events and club on water events
- Work with the Projects Manager to manage maintenance on and around the Marina
- Maintain and refine the club’s Environmental Management Plan
- Excellent management skills are required to manage our very busy Harbour Office team
To be considered for this role, candidates must have the following essential criteria:
- Recreational skippers ticket/ boat licence
- First Aid Courses – CPR & Resuscitation & Oxygen Therapy
- Drivers licence
- Computer literacy with word, excel and emails
- Excellent communication & customer service skills
- Good grooming and personal presentation
- Requirement to work every second weekend as well as outside of normal office hours.
It is highly desirable that the candidate has successfully completed the following:
- MIA Straddle Carrier Operator Course
- Coxswains Course Grade 1
- Forklift Course
Experience with a marina management software system would be highly advantageous, however, we are also willing to offer on the job training to get the most suitable candidate.
This role requires a lot of energy & enthusiasm, the ability to work well with others at all levels, including members, committees and local authorities.
