Internationally recognised as a Platinum Gold Anchor marina along with a level 3 Clean Marina accreditation, our customers disembark directly into Sanctuary Cove’s Marina Village, where speciality stores, restaurants and cafes line the water’s edge.
THE OPPORTUNITY
Sanctuary Cove Marina is looking for a self-motivated and energetic person to join its team. TheMarina Operations Officer role is responsible for providing a high standard of customer service to marina users, as well as ensuring the marina environment is kept safe, clean and tidy.
Salary guide - $75,000.00 PA inclusive of Super.
Working closely with the General Manager and the Operations Teams, key responsibilities for the Marina Operations Officer include:
- Providing exceptional customer service experience for our marina customers.
- Assisting with the day-to-day supervision and training of the Dockhands.
- Assigning casual marina berths, monitoring the marina area and overseeing marina movements.
- Assisting with monitoring and maintaining marina WH&S standards and environmental compliance.
- Liaising with security for any afterhours activity such as vessels arriving outside of office hours.
- Various admin duties such as - maintaining records of water and electricity usage, daily fuel dips, invoicing and general oversight of policies and procedures.
- Ensuring work vessels and golf buggies are kept clean and detailed, and that scheduled maintenance and servicing is adhered to.
- Assisting with general marina maintenance and upkeep projects as required.
This is a full-time role, working 5 days per week with one weekend day required. It is anticipated that the Marina Operations Officer and Dockhand will work a rotating roster of Sunday to Thursday and Tuesday to Saturday.
YOUR BACKGROUND
- Strong understanding of standard Marina Operations, with 2+ years’ experience in dockhand, dockmaster or similar roles within the marine industry
- Outstanding customer service skills with a sense of urgency to meeting. customer requests in a busy marina.
- A ‘quick thinker’ with excellent internal and external communication.
- Sound knowledge of health and safety standards.
- Computer literate with the ability to learn and use a range of programs.
- Certificate in Marina Operations and/or experience in repairs and maintenance in a marina environment highly desirable.
- Current boat licence and ability to swim.
