- Short term support for our Year 10 Great Barrier Reef Immersion Project on Heron Island

If snorkelling and diving is your passion and sharing your knowledge is your desire, then join St Michael’s Grammar students as they discover the underwater world of the Great Barrier Reef. Each year dedicated Year 10 students accompanied by their teachers, undertake studies towards their VCE Unit 2 Biology studies on the Great Barrier Reef.
We are looking for an enthusiastic person with a Marine Biology background and knowledge of Heron Island, to share their wealth of knowledge with our students and to enlighten them to life as a scientist. During this weeklong field trip, we also require this person to be our snorkelling supervisor, supported by teachers, to provide a rich and safe experience for our students when in the water.
If you can demonstrate that you have great communication skills with staff and students alike and have an ability to self-direct and be proactive around safety, you just might be what we are looking for. Knowledge of and experience at Heron Island is desirable, whilst snorkelling qualifications are advantageous.
