AddressLizard Island Resort is a prestigious destination located in the heart of the Great Barrier Reef. Our resort offers unparalleled luxury and adventure experiences for our guests. We are currently seeking a skilled and motivated Marine Engineer to join our team.
Role Overview:
The Marine Engineer will play a crucial role in ensuring the efficient operation and maintenance of our vessels and marine equipment. The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting routine servicing, diagnosing and repairing engines, and performing preventative maintenance tasks.
Responsibilities:
- Perform servicing of inboard engines, including Cummings QSM-11, Twin MTU 515kW, and Yamaha outboard engines.
- Conduct servicing and maintenance of generators.
- Diagnose and repair engine issues to ensure optimal performance.
- Conduct on-water testing, vessel collections, and deliveries as required.
- Install new engines and fit-ups as needed.
- Maintain a full driver's license and Master 24m or above.
- Demonstrate reliability, punctuality, and excellent attention to detail in all tasks.
Requirements:
- Trade qualified in a mechanical field with marine experience.
- Self-motivated and able to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Experience with diesel and petrol engines preferred.
- Proficiency in engineering vessels requiring an MED I certificate and Master 24m.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot mechanical issues effectively.
- Commitment to safety and adherence to standard operating procedures.
