As a Marine Maintenance Officer, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the serviceability and reliability of our marine fleet. Reporting directly to the Maintenance Manager, you will be responsible for conducting service and repair work on our vessels, employing your expertise in hydraulics, electrical systems, and engine mechanics. Your ability to work effectively in a team environment, coupled with strong problem-solving skills, will be essential in maintaining our fleet's operational efficiency.
What does your week look like?
Conducting thorough inspections to identify mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues promptly.
Communicating effectively with internal stakeholders to provide updates on maintenance activities and equipment status.
Coordinate with external contractors as needed for repairs or services.
Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, including parts usage, labour hours, and repair documentation.
Collaborating with the Maintenance Manager and other team members to prioritise tasks and ensure timely completion of maintenance projects.
Perform routine maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs on marine vessels, including hydraulics, 12-24v electrical systems, diesel, and petrol engines.
What can you bring?
- Trade background with proven experience in marine fleet maintenance.
- Strong expertise in hydraulics, 12-24v electrical systems, and diesel/petrol engines.
- Coxswain license is desirable but not essential.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment and independently when required.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with a proactive approach to troubleshooting.
- Effective communication skills.
