Job description

We welcome an experienced and qualified Maintenance Officer to join the Medea Park team, working on a casual basis.

About the Role
As a Maintenance Officer, you will perform a program of maintenance and works at Medea Park, which is to assure the safe and appropriate functioning of buildings, equipment and vehicles throughout the facility.

What you will be doing

  • Ensure that maintenance equipment is serviceable and stored safely.
  • Contribute to the maintenance of a safe environment for all staff and residents within the facility and report and document incidents in accordance with the policies of the organisation.
  • Ensure that personal level of knowledge and skills regarding safety is updated on a regular basis and that personal work practices comply with the organisation’s Work Health and Safety Policies and Procedures
  • Promote a culture of workers undertaking responsibility for completing documentation accurately, completely and in required timeframes
  • Communicate effectively with residents and their families, showing patience, tolerance and understanding
  • Respect and maintain privacy and a high degree of confidentiality in relation to all dealings with staff, clients and others and in relation to the organisation 
  • Assist staff, residents and/or their families in problem solving and refer to appropriate personnel as necessary

Things that matter to us

  1. Current Fire Safety Certification or willing to obtain.
  2. Preferred Trade Certificate in related discipline
  3. Current Driver’s License
  4. Valid National Police Check (Within 3 Years)
  5. Proof of COVID-19 Vaccinations
  6. Current First Aid Certificate
  7. Proof of eligibility to Work in Australia  
  8. Good interpersonal and communication skills
