Economic Development
This is a Part time Maximum Term Contract up to 24 months, 28 hours per week. Salary from $53.16 to $61.70 per hour plus superannuation. (Salary package will be assessed based on skills, experience and qualifications).

As Marketing Specialist, Economic Development you will deliver strategic marketing and communications to elevate and promote Wollongong City Council's Economic Development initiatives.
You will lead the marketing strategy and brand positioning for Invest Wollongong, a strategic partnership of Wollongong City Council, the NSW Government and the University of Wollongong focused on positioning Wollongong as prime location for business across key sectors.
You will execute brand strategy, deliver large marketing projects and manage a range of marketing and communications channels. Managing and evaluating digital brand and marketing campaigns is one of your key strengths. You will be a natural at developing and nurturing strong relationships with a wide range of stakeholders.
You will work collaboratively within Wollongong City Council's Economic Development and Communications and Marketing Team, be motivated, energetic and able to hit the ground running!
Abouttherole
We are looking for an experienced Marketing Specialist with the skills and knowledge to execute brand strategy and deliver large marketing projects to join Council's Communications & Marketing team.
In this role you will deliver strategic marketing and communications to meet Wollongong Council's Economic Development strategy. You will also be responsible for leading the marketing strategy and brand positioning for , a strategic partnership of Wollongong City Council, the NSW Government and the University of Wollongong focused on positioning Wollongong as prime location for business across key sectors.
You will bring to the role your experience, energy and knowledge managing digital marketing campaigns and a range of marketing and communications channels. You'll thrive in an environment where balancing multiple deadline-driven projects at once is the norm, and where you'll be able to seamlessly move from marketing strategy development to tracking digital marketing KPIs such as social engagement and audience growth. Managing and evaluating brand and marketing campaigns is one of your key strengths. You will be a natural at developing and nurturing strong relationships with a wide range of stakeholders.
You will work collaboratively within the Economic Development and Communications and Marketing Team, be motivated, passionate and able to hit the ground running!
Some of your responsibilities will include:
- Delivering integrated marketing and communications activities to elevate the and services of Wollongong City Council and help grow Invest Wollongong brand engagement.
- Managing and evaluating digital brand and marketing campaigns
- Developing creative and persuasive content across multiple digital and print channels, including websites and social media
- Market research and analysis of key segments and audiences to drive Council's Economic Development outcomes
- Developing and nurturing key stakeholder relationships

- You have strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- You have an eye for detail.
- You understand the market base, provide advice and support to stakeholders.
