Our client, a global mining powerhouse, is seeking to engage an experienced Master Scheduler. In this role, you will provide key support by developing, monitoring and maintaining detailed program schedules to evaluate, plan and support individual projects, and supervising critical paths of the core program pipeline.
This is an initial contract till 12 February 2024 with potential to extend, based in Brisbane CBD.
Key objectives:
- Understand and own the Portfolio and Program Master schedules and maintain it in MS Project Professional
- Coach and train Program and projects manager to optimize their scheduling and planning effort. Provide review and quality assurance across project schedules
- Implement progress reporting driven from the MS Project
- Responsible for consistency of project planning, setup and tracking across projects and for ramping up and down project controller roles
- Oversee portfolio/Program/project plans, schedules, and estimates for all allocated projects.
- Support data quality and project performance (cost, schedule, quality) within allocated projects
- Responsible for tracking project portfolio schedule, commitment, team capacity and demand
- Develop and maintain stakeholder relationships and a path of escalation
- Continuous improvement of scheduling process templates and guidelines, in order to streamline processes and ensure efficiency
- Assist in updating scheduling standards/procedures and educate/train program managers in their use
- Ensure plans are realistic and consistent with estimates of costs to complete
- Facilitate planning workshops as required.
- Experienced with developing a master schedule from multiple projects and defining critical paths and burn down charts.
- Good communication skills as required to have significant engagement with projects and stakeholders.
