Our client is a global provider of Industrial Products & Services sold into the Rail Industry.
Due to their continued success and growth and the introduction of an exciting new product range they are now looking to appoint a Materials Planning & Scheduling Officer to their Sydney team.
Salary Package: Base Salary $100K - $110K (Dep on Experience) PLUS Super PLUS Bonus
Reporting to the Supply Chain Manager, The Materials Planning and Scheduling Officer is accountable for developing precise demand forecasts and overseeing procurement activities to optimize inventory levels, minimize stockouts, and ensure product availability to meet customer demand. Some of your responsibilities will include;
THE ROLE
- Analyzing historical data, sales trends, and customer demand patterns to accurately forecast future demand.
- Reporting inventory data to the Supply Chain Manager and other company stakeholders.
- Utilize historical sales data, and customer requirements to develop accurate demand forecasts for assigned product categories.
- Conduct collaborative planning and forecasting based on sales contracts, usages, and requirements for all branches by conducting regular Sales & Operations meetings.
- Determine optimal inventory levels by balancing customer service goals with inventory cost estimates, considering factors such as lead times, safety stock requirements, and distribution capabilities.
- Analyze datasets to identify demand trends, seasonality, and potential demand drivers.
- Develop and refine demand planning processes, procedures, and methodologies to improve forecasting accuracy and efficiency.
- Prepare regular reports and analyses to monitor demand planning performance, stock levels, variances, and obsolescence programs.
- Review aged stock reports and collaborate with the sales teams to identify stock reduction programmes.
- Maintain MRP system parameters in Navision.
- Conduct monthly cycle count programmes with warehouse staff promptly.
- Identify opportunities for process optimization, automation, and system enhancements to streamline demand planning operations and improve overall supply chain efficiency.
- Appropriate trade or commercial background relating to supply chain and logistics, focusing on material planning, scheduling, and inventory control.
- Min four years’ experience in Planning, Scheduling, and Inventory Control Management.
- Must have intermediate knowledge of Microsoft tools with high Excel abilities. Experience in Navision/SAP would be an advantage.
- Proven experience in demand planning, forecasting, or inventory management roles, preferably in a Service / Manufacturing, Transport, or Logistics sector.
