Fixed Term Part time - 0.7 FTE – 12 month appointment
MCH Year 2-3 $109,808 - $114,009 pro rata + 11 % superannuation
We are looking for a Maternal and Child Health Nurse who is highly motivated and flexible with service delivery and who has a demonstrated ability to support families from the perinatal period to school age, whilst fostering partnerships that promote optimal health and wellbeing. The successful candidates will have a focused approach to support physical, emotional, and social factors affecting families in contemporary communities with demonstrated experience in implementing innovative strategies to support engagement.
What you’ll be working on
- The Outreach Maternal and Child Health role will provide a service to families in Hobsons Bay City Council that assists in broader access to Maternal and Child Health
- The role will provide opportunity to work with families in childcare, kindergarten, and other community settings
- The role will provide opportunity to work in client’s homes that may otherwise be unable to attend the Maternal and Child Health Centre
What you need to succeed
- Current nurse and midwife registration with Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA)
- Post graduate Qualifications in Family, Child, and Community Health or equivalent (as defined by AHPRA)
- Strong communication and customer service skills with the ability to engage with diverse communities
- Knowledge and skills relevant to the provision of the Victorian Local Government Maternal and Child Health service
- Knowledge of the specific needs of families from cultural and linguistic diverse backgrounds (CALD) including first Nations families
- Experience in facilitating community education/health promotion programs for infants, young children, and their families a s per program standards.
- Demonstrated understanding of Child Information Sharing Schemes and Family Violence Information Sharing Schemes, MARAM and Child Safe Standards
- Current Victorian Driver’s License
- Employee Working with Children’s Check
