About the Role
There are opportunities for Fixed-TermPart-Time Trainee Support Workers to join our Maitland Community Care Services Support team.
Our workers support clients in their homes throughout the Maitland area, providing support with practical activities including (but not limited to):
- Social support
- Shopping
- Meal preparation
- Light housework
- Transport
- Welfare Checks
- Respite
All are aimed at helping our clients to remain living their best life independently in their own home.
About you
We are looking for eager trainees who are passionate and caring individuals who want to make a real difference in the lives of our clients.
In order to be successful in this role, you will need:
- To have a keen interest in working with the elderly, younger people who live with disability or people with dementia and their carers.
- An eagerness to learn and develop your skills as a Support Worker.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Exceptional organisational and time management skills, with the ability to mange your workload.
- Strong problem-solving and adaptability skills with a solution-focused style and approach.
- Ability to work with others and autonomously in community settings.
- A First Aid Certificate (Including CPR Certification)
- NSW Driver Licence
- A current, reliable, well-presented vehicle with comprehensive insurance cover
- Current Working with Children Check and an NDIS Worker Screening Check (or will obtain)
- Evidence of COVID-19 Vaccinations (including COVID-19 Booster)
- Evidence of protection against Diphtheria, Measles, Hepatitis B, Pertussis, Mumps, Varicella, Tetanus, Rubella, Tuberculosis (Influenza is recommended)
