The Mechanical Design Executive position is based out of Sydney, Australia, where you will play a critical role in the design, drawing and development of heavy vehicle components to meet client specifications and comply with the Australian Design Rules (ADR).
Your responsibilities will span across designing and drawing of trailers / trailer parts with a focus on design rules and compliance along with identifying innovative ways to bring in efficiencies.
Roles and Responsibilities:
• Learn and understand technical specifications and drawings of the heavy vehicle equipment components to comply with the client's requirements.
• Draw and design mechanical components and produce models using AutoCAD & SolidWorks conforming to Australian Design Rules (ADR).
• Learn and Generate Part and assembly drawings, follow through from concept, detail design to manufacturing implementation.
• Create Bill of Materials (BOM), review and work on drawing inline with engineering specifications, quality standards and eliminate errors.
•Ability to learn concepts, work with team and produce results
• Able to effectively work between multiple jobs at the same time. On-time delivery of drafting and design.
• Liaise with the shopfloor to maintain an organized workflow between design, manufacturing, and assembly.
• Work with other engineers on the execution of task briefs, the scope of works, and deliverables.
• Assist in the manufacture and disposal of materials and assemblies that do not comply with ADR standards as required
• Update and release product technical documentation to initiate purchase and production processes as required
Skills & Competencies:
• 1 to 3 years of experience in a similar role and industry ( preferred).
• Basic to intermediate 2D and 3D CAD skills, preferably using SolidWorks and AutoCAD.
• Intermediate/Advanced skills in using Microsoft Office.
• Strong problem-solving skills and root-cause analysis.
• Ability to draw, design, and develop ideas /models.
• Strong presentation skills.
• Critical thinking, design thinking, and analytical skills.
• Working with teams and strong communication skills.
• Ability to work with minimal supervision. Hands-on and practical approach.
