With local manufacturing in Australia, they are experiencing phenomenal growth in Australia, UK, and USA, and are looking to increase their expertise in the Australian mechanical design engineering team.
About the Role
Reporting through to the Lead Mechanical Design Engineer and being part of an established NPD/R&D team, you will be focused on innovative mechanical design for volume manufacturing which includes plastics, metals, and advanced materials. Taking products from concept to commercialisation, whilst delivering on customer and consumer insights. You will need to be confident in creation and detailing of design concepts using sketches and 3D CAD design software (Solidworks).
Key Responsibilities and Experience
- Design FMEA (Failure mode and effect analysis)
- Technical Documentation - design specifications, test procedures, user manuals
- Provide technical support to other cross functional teams
- Design reviews and key sign-off milestones
- Thorough understanding of AS1100 Drawing Standards, including GD &T
- Be a creative Mechanical Industrial Designer with at least 6 years’ experience
The successful candidate needs to be highly creative, capable of taking a concept and working through the design process and be an independent thinker. Collaboration, enthusiasm and being self-directed is important, and the ability to multitask and meet key milestones, is essential.
