About the role
Reporting to our Production & Innovation Manager, the Mechanical Drafter will be responsible for all stages of the design & documentation. This role is being offered as a full-time position.
Key responsibilities include:
- Produce 3D models and technical drawings for manufacture, and prepare concept/proposal drawings to meet design requirements and specifications.
- Ensure final designs comply with relevant regulations and standards.
- Have the ability to assess designs and problem-solve.
- Adhere to project timelines, and deadlines and self-manage.
Skills, knowledge & experience required:
- Diploma of Engineering Drafting (or strong trade/workshop background).
- Demonstrated intermediate knowledge of 3D & 2D CAD software programs including SolidWorks (preferred), AutoCAD, DraftSight etc.
- Good understanding of relevant technical drawing standard AS1100.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Word and Excel.
- Excellent communication skills. Proficient in written and reading English (language), able to effectively communicate at all levels within the business.
- The ability to follow directions from supervisors as well as work independently, as required.
- Good attention to detail.
Other experience and skills that will be desirable, but not essential:
- Strong aptitude for mechanical reasoning (problem-solving), calculations mathematics.
- Technical experience within a manufacturing environment.
