DUTIES REQUIRED IN THE ROLE:
- Assist in identifying and managing mechanical reliability risks, and oversee the implementation of mitigation strategies.
- Develop and implement cost-effective engineering solutions that comply with both site and Australian standards.
- Provide technical support for equipment performance and maintenance, including inspections and engineering verification during shutdowns.
- Lead continuous improvement projects aimed at plant enhancement and defect elimination.
- Support and utilize the Management of Change system and optimize costs through the efficient process and project budget control.
- Engage in technical fault finding and failure analysis.
- Proven experience and understanding of reliability engineering and asset lifecycle management with exposure to coal mining
- A tertiary degree in Mechanical Engineering
- Strong background in surface mining and maintenance of fixed or mobile coal mine assets
- In-depth knowledge of asset integrity management systems and compliance with statutory codes and standards.
- Strong interpersonal skills to drive change and manage improvement projects.
- Experience in cost management, statutory compliance, and auditing.
- Proficient in computer systems, including engineering tools and office products; SAP experience is preferred.
This is an ongoing contract position that will be based in the Mackay Coal Fields on an attractive 5:2 roster with a WFH day, DIDO or FIFO from Brisbane. There is a generous hourly rate along with camp accommodation, and the prospect of working for a leading mining giant.
