Working at a Hydro Power Station, you will assist in the management of asset management & operations.
Your new role
Working at an 88 MW Hydro Power Station in north Queensland, as a Mechanical Engineer, you will be a key member of the Asset Management & Operations team.
Your general responsibilities will be:
- Develop and implement Mechanical Engineering function asset life cycle plans and risk management plans
- Develop and implement mechanical infrastructure safety, operations and maintenance processes
- Identify and lead performance initiatives to deliver positive performance outcomes that deliver ongoing continuous improvements
- Undertake complex fault-finding and investigation into plant issues to produce comprehensive solution options and recommend course of action
- Mechanical infrastructure project management advice and support to the Major Works Manager
- Management and coordination of outsourced service providers and vendors for mechanical works and activities
- Develop overhaul work scopes (including inspections and checks to ensure all statutory/compliance requirements and documentation is in place for successful handover of plant fit for service)
What you'll need to succeed
In order to be successful, you will:
- Relevant tertiary degree; Mechanical Engineering
- Statutory registration as a Professional Engineer in Queensland (or working towards attaining)
- Sound knowledge of Mechanical Engineering, ideally within the hydro and gas electricity power generation sector
- Experience in implementing and managing systems in a complex, multi-site environment in hydro and gas
- Capability to manage mechanical works and requirements across multiple sites simultaneously
- Ability to apply strong problem-solving competency to complex challenges
- Ability to build strong relationships both internally with key stakeholders and with external providers
- Ability and willingness to contribute broadly, particularly during the early stages of establishment
What you'll get in return
This position will operate on a casual basis for 3-6 months; at an hourly rate of $58.74 + Superannuation.
Non-local candidates to the Tully/Innisfail region, accommodation and meals will be provided/reimbursed.
