Mechanical Engineer Apprenticeship

Protech SA are looking for a motivated individual to undertake a Mechanical Engineering Apprenticeship working in the maintenance team within the water/wastewater treatment plant.

This 4-year fulltime position will enable you to work full time, gain paid, practical experience and support this with study on-the-job towards a nationally recognised Certificate III in Engineering Mechanical Trade.

ABOUT THE ROLE:

• Immediate Start
• Work full-time hours whilst learning on the job
• Leave entitlements provided
• Complete a Certificate III in Engineering Mechanical Trade (4 year apprenticeship)
• Receive a nationally recognised trade qualification
• Potential for ongoing placement at the completion of training

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Use power tools and hand-held operations
• Perform routine gas metal arc welding
• Interpret technical drawings
• Use a range of tools and equipment, such as centre lathes, welders, guillotines, grinders and machine centres
• Produce, fit and assemble parts
• Produce sub-assemblies and components
• Set up and adjust metal-working equipment and raw materials

ABOUT YOU:

• Current drivers' licence and reliable vehicle
• Passionate about the engineering industry
• Construction White Card
• Possess good physical fitness to perform manual tasks
• Previous experience or pre-vocational certificate (desirable)
• Ability to pass a pre-employment medical and urine drug screen
• A team player who is reliable and trustworthy
• Mechanically minded
• Motivated and adaptable, with a desire to learn both within a workshop and classroom environment
